Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to content published on the campaign.gov.uk domain. It does not apply to content on service.gov.uk subdomains (for example, www.registertovote.service.gov.uk) or on www.gov.uk

This website is run by the Government Digital Service. It is designed to be used by as many people as possible. The text should be clear and simple to understand. You should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 300% without problems
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • use most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How accessible this website is

Parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:

  • Some pages use long, complex sentences. They are not written in plain English.
  • Some pages use visual maps, along with a list of location names. Not all names describe clearly where the location is. For example, Freeport East is on the eastern coast of England – but so are several other Freeports.

GOV.UK services

Each service has its own accessibility page, with details of how accessible the service is, how to report problems and how to request information in an alternative format. You can access these pages from the footer inside the service.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The Government Digital Service is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Maps of UK Freeport locations are visual. The maps are presented with a list of Freeport names, which link to information about each Freeport. Instead of the map, use the list of links.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are working with each Freeport to get a description of its location, and will add this text to the website. This is expected to be in place by summer of 2024.

Preparation of this accessibility statement
